What are Twitch alerts?
Alerts and notifications are important elements of a good stream. These alerts are triggered whenever a viewer performs a particular action (a follow, a donation, a subscription, or hosting and raiding) and inform both the streamer and their viewers about the event.
Twitch alerts are an easy and important way to make your stream more professional. Offering automated shoutouts every time a viewer supports you is low-hanging fruit when it comes to building a community, and there’s a reason why you won’t see any big streamer without Twitch alerts on their broadcast.
All variations - from OWN3D
We at OWN3D aim to provide Twitch alerts and other stream elements all across the board, in a massive selection of styles and tones to ensure that every broadcaster will find what they are looking for. No matter if you stream games or “Just Chatting” content: our Twitch alerts are as diverse as Twitch itself. Our team always stays up-to-date on the latest trends: this means we can offer new products including Twitch alerts very quickly, including animated designs. The sky is the limit with our designs and there is a lot of creative work and heart and soul in every single stream alert,Twitch overlaysand other streaming tools.
How to set up Twitch alerts
If you want to add Twitch Follower alerts, Twitch Donation alerts, Subscriber (Sub) alerts or other notifications like Host alerts, Raid alerts or Bit Donation alerts to your stream, you will need an external tool. Check out our detailedOBS tutorialfor all your alert needs!
Other tools like Streamelements and Streamlabs have their own setup processes. We recommend the combination of OBS Studio and OWN3D Pro for the best results.
The OWN3D Pro dashboard is an easy-to-use and intuitive interface to set up your alerts. You can customize the visuals, the alert types and the text displayed therein among many other features.

What makes for a good alert?
A Twitch alert or Twitch notification (these terms can be used synonymously) consists of multiple elements. First, the visual component, usually a graphic of some kind, but sometimes this can also contain an animation.
A text is usually displayed above or next to the graphic or animation, which specifies the current event in more detail: the name of the viewer who executed the action as well as a text describing the action, be it a follow, a donation, a raid or something else. The streamer can fully customize these messages. They can stick with a default message of pure information (like “OWN3D followed the channel”) to any sort of creative alternatives. With the help of variables, it is also possible to retrieve the amount donated or the duration of the subscription in months and also display it as part of the text.
Sound is the other main component of a Twitch alert. Very few streamers rely purely on the visual display of an event: they also accompany such events with special sounds or short pieces of music. This way, the notification draws more attention. It is also a great way to establish an emotional tone and hype things up a bit, thereby potentially triggering further events. If a viewer sees and hears something cool on the screen after someone has subscribed, they become more likely to do so themselves.
Where can I get free Twitch alerts?
We keep getting asked if OWN3D offers free alerts and the answer is yes! Five free alerts are available in our “OWN3D Pro” service. The only thing you have to do is to register for the “Free Subscription” and you will have the possibility to receive free alerts from us. The only requirement is that you use OBS Studio as your streaming software. In addition to the free Twitch alerts, the free version of OWN3D Pro offers five overlays, a chatbot, royalty free music, donation page, stream labels and much more.
Premium Twitch alerts from OWN3D
At OWN3D, we know what kind of Twitch alerts will appeal to your viewers. Nearly all our designers are streamers or gamers themselves and pay attention to every little detail when creating new alerts. There are over 150 Twitch alert packages in our store, each of them crafted in the highest quality, with a constantly growing selection featuring tools likeintermission bannersandTwitch panels.
Make sure your Twitch alerts match your tone and style. If you mainly stream gaming content, you should use alerts that make it clear that your broadcast is super serious (for instance, by using a dark color). If you mainly stream “Just Chatting” content, you should choose alerts that are lighter in tone.
Choose your product - what is your theme?
The most important thing is that your alerts should never stand by themselves: make sure that the graphics and sounds fit into the concept of your stream! For example, if you mainly play fantasy games while sitting in front of the camera in a medieval armor, laser sounds and robots as graphical components would probably be a poor choice. The same applies for you as a streamer: if you are the calm and professional type, then funny sounds and animations may not be the best choice for you.
